What is a Living Wake?

A Living Wake is similar to a traditional wake, except it happens before the person has died. It's a chance for a community of friends and family to come together and tell a loved one the impact they have made on their lives while they are still here to share it.

Living Wakes are still not very common in Australia, but they are a wonderful way for family and friends to honour someone special before it’s too late.

Imagine how your loved one would feel to be present to hear all the lovely experiences of their lives shared with everyone they love, from memories to tributes.

Generally, a Living Wake is held for someone with a terminal illness or simply approaching the end of their life through old age. Either way it seems such a shame for all those lovely sentiments not to be shared with the person you love.
